Spring Forest Qi Gong
Martha McQueary is a physical therapist at St. Joseph Hospital and works
with home health patients. She began her studies in Qi Gong (pronounced
chi gong) in 1996 with Jim Concotelli, at the former Wellness Center in
Lexington. During that same year, she continued her studies in Spring
Forest Qi Gong with its creator, Master Chunyi Lin. Since that time,
Martha has traveled to the Normandale Center for Applied Learning and
Spring Forest Qi Gong in Minnesota and taken three levels of
instruction to further her studies directly with Master Lin. She now
maintains an ongoing personal practice in this very special healing art.
Qi Gong is a study of the energy
of the whole universe. It has been shown effective in the prevention
and cure of many diseases. Qi Gong combines mental concentration,
breathing, and body movements that activate and cultivate our "vital
energy" as it flows through the inisible channels of the body.
This class will consist of active
exercises and listening to audio recordings of meditations with Master
Chunyi Lin. There will be a sliding scale of $6 - 10 per class, based
on income. Participants can take all the session or drop in as they
can. To register please call 859-402-2430.
